liza:
very well thank you.=)
chung lao:
what? new with the h-town assembly?
liza:
hmm...new additions to the church in terms of babies and
couples! very
exciting!
chung lao:
god willing, where do you see yourself in 5 years?
liza:
hmm?rob working full time---getting ready for my big day?
chung lao:
what do you think of indaphatfarm.com?
liza:
i think its a very creative , high-quality and very
informative website.
chung lao: describe some of the mission trips to mexico
you?e been on. do you recommend these types of mission trips
to other youth? why?
liza:
well letsee?y description would just be that i go and play
guitar or
testify?ery much as if we were here. however, what i have
learned is to be
grateful for the commodities we have here. i have also learned
about yielding my
body as a sacrifice for god because it is easy to say i?l die
for him, but its
not easy to say ??l be boiling hot and sweaty and yucky for
him?i recommend
trips like these to other young people because it brings it
home to you about
what really is important in life.
chung lao:
name someone you admire, and why.
liza:
i admire armando. he is not perfect but he made a very hard
decision at such a young age to leave and serve god and by god's grace he has
persevered. at the same time he has not lost his down-to-earth way of being. i
can still talk to him about my problems without being sermonized or judged and
he always gives a listening ear.
chung lao:
what is the biggest difference between you and your twin
sister, brenda?
liza:
brenda is so responsible and faces her problems head on. i
have to force myself to stick my head out of the sand to face my problems. i am
also a bit of a
slacker in comparison to miss responsible =)
chung lao: have you ever impersonated your sister? if
so, tell us the story.
liza:
yes. haha! i actually wrote her interview for her! j/k =)
well back in the
days when we were 2 yrs old my mom had this weird rule that we
weren? allowed
to pull on the curtains because they would fall or something
ridiculous like
that.
anyway i disregarded this cardinal rule and got carried
away playing with
these exciting pieces of fabric and sure enough the curtain
fell down. at this
time my dear brother instigated all of my siblings to tell on
me to my father
one by one. first went armando and told my dad ?ad, liza
tore down the
curtain!?nbsp; my dad said ?kay i?l take care of it.?then diana
went and told and
finally brenda did also. seeing myself in this desperate
situation i went and
told my dad ?ad, liza tore down the curtain!? he knowing who
i was asked me
?ell where is liza??and i pointed at brenda. at this point
the whole
household was laughing so i did not get in trouble!=)
chung lao:
i read somewhere that twins can sometimes feel what the other
twin is feeling, even when they?e not in the same place.
have you ever felt this?
color=#ffffff size=2 style="font-size: 9pt">
liza:
yes.
chung lao:
in your view, why is it important to stay focused on our lord
jesus
christ?
liza:
i have seen in my own life the danger of not being focused on
jesus and i tend to go off in one way or the other. i either get legalistic or
worldly none of
which are pleasing to god. when we focus on jesus however,
the petty things
really don? matter anymore and our desires start to change to
what he wants so
that we do what we do not out of rebellion or legalism but
because a love for
jesus. this attitude is seen by others and this strengthens
their ability to see
jesus in you.
chung lao:
where were you when you heard the news about blessan samuel,
and what was your initial reaction?
liza:
i had just gotten home from the store with my mom and when i
opened the door there was my grandmother crying. i was like ?hat is wrong??
she said something but i really didn? understand until i saw
di and brenda come out crying and saying the news. i guess
that immediately what happened hit me because my reaction was
immediate. i felt very desperate and that day took like a
nightmarish quality to it. i am glad i had a great friend to
talk with because
i was left alone with my grandma while everyone went to
blessan? house.
chung lao:
i know that blessan went out of his way to make sure you and
your
sister were ok. describe some of those moments.
liza:
one time a few years ago before blessan had a cell phone, i
was talking to him on his house phone. we were talking about some of my problems
and then he spoke to me the truth that i needed to hear. i
knew that he was right, but it still hurt so i started crying. he immediately started apologizing
until i stopped and explained to him that i was not hurt or offended by him,
but that the truth hurts sometimes. a few minutes later he had to get off the
phone because he had to run to the store. like about 10
minutes later i got a phone call from
blessan. i said ?ou already got back so soon??and he said
?o, i am here at a
payphone? cant stop thinking about what happened i just want
to say sorry
again. i was so moved by his care for me because it was
raining very badly and
he still stopped at the gas station to call again.
also on our 18 birthday he knew that brenda and i love the
movie pride and prejudice. it is a 6 volume tape set and is
on the expensive side so brenda and i never even thought to
get it. anyway he came to our house with a birthday present
for us and inside the wrapping was that movie. i couldn?
believe it because its not like you can just pick it up at any
store. he went through the trouble to look for it and
brighten our day for us.
chung lao:
what have you learned from his life?
liza:
love without reserve. blessan always gave people chances and
even put aside all pride to show how much he cared without
holding back.
chung lao:
name some countries you would like to visit / revisit, and
why.
liza:
i would love to go to austria. i guess because of the movie
sound of music i became fascinated with it. i would also like to go to
switzerland. i don? know why i want to go there? just do.
chung lao:
favorite movie?
liza:
pride and prejudice
chung lao:
favorite food?
liza:
i think lasagna.
chung lao:
what is something you can? stand in a person?
liza:
harshness!!! something else that bothers me is an attitude
of mockery against others because they are different. or like when someone makes
a joke and the listener says ?h, no?hat? not funny?or something like
that? hate that! that is so rude, i mean?ah don? get me started i can go on
forever about that. i guess the main thing is that i hate when people demean
others? don? like to see anyone do that to anyone.
chung lao:
will you vote for george w in ?4? why/why not?
liza:
of course! well this man is brave enough to say that he is
against gay
marriages knowing that this could be political suicide if he
loses the state of
california. he has got guts and i like that?lso cause he?
texan ;) yeehaw!
chung lao:
can you cook? if so, what? your specialty?
liza:
white rice is my specialty. actually that is the only thing i
know how to
cook?mm, does boiling water count?
chung lao: are we living in the end times?
liza:
the signs seem to implicate that.
chung lao:
give us a fond memory/story about your brother, bro. armando,
(who is currently serving the lord in the ministry).
liza:
ahh a fond memory?perfect?he chance of a lifetime to let
everyone know what a great older brother he is! well?back in
the day when i was a young punk kid, armando told me ?iza i?l pay you a dollar if you hold my
hand and put your hand in water? being the adoring little sister that i was ;)
i was very
excited to be part of his experiment and to top it off, i was
going to get a
whole dollar. sure enough i held his hand and put mine in the
water when
suddenly i feel electricity running through my body. yes, my
darling big
brother was holding on to the fridge laughing and getting a
little shocked
himself. i started crying and my mom came running, and
armando almost fell over from laughing so much. then he said
he wasn? going to pay me!!! my mom was so mad that she made
him pay me immediately!
i have to add another story so you?l see how nice he really
can be. one time
while brenda and i were in 5th grade these bullies started
messing with brenda.
she came to the car really sad that day and armando was like
?hat happened
honey?? brenda explained what happened, and he told her to
tell him who it
was. when brenda pointed the boys out, they were already
walking home. my bro told my mom to follow them because he
was furious. my mom was like ?e careful, be careful?but she
still followed them. at a certain street he told her to
stop the car and he got out and scared the living daylights
out of them. he
said that if they ever mess with his little sisters again they
would have to
deal with him. then he said ?et out of here now!?nbsp; they
started running as
fast as their legs could carry them and the next day they
couldn? even look at
us in the face!. go armando!
chung lao:
you?e just been granted a wish to have any one thing you
want. what?l it be?
liza:
that what i want to do in life would be god? will and that he
would work it
out.
chung lao:
describe your ideal house (actual building).
liza:
i am not sure really how to describe it but all i can say is
that it be spacious and kid friendly.
chung lao:
now, describe your ideal home.
liza:
dad works, mom at home with the kids. mom and dad have great
relationship with each other?one of this hiding stuff from
each other, and kids feel free to talk about anything with
parents; everyone working together as a team.
chung lao:
list some of your favorite songs.
liza:
cara a cara by marcos vidal
chung lao:
have a favorite phrase, or something you say a lot?
liza:
cool
chung lao:
what about a favorite verse or passage from the bible?
liza:
psalms 139 talks about how god knows everything about us.
this comforts me because i know he still loves me even when he knows things
about me that i can't see.
chung lao:
if you could change one thing about yourself, what would it
be?
liza:
i? want to have more of the love of christ in me.
chung lao:
ok, you wake up one morning and get ready to eat breakfast.
as you pour some honey nut cheerios into your bowl, you notice
that your siblings are curiously absent. ?here are brenda
and diana?you ask. ?ho??replies your mom. upon further questioning you come to find out that
your siblings
never existed. how do you feel?
liza:
i feel absolutely horrible! who will pick up after me now?
no, but seriously di and brett get me out of so many scrapes and they are the
best sisters anyone can ask for. i would be devastated!
chung lao:
finally, leave us with a parting thought.
liza:
be grateful for everything and everyone around you and let
people know when you appreciate them, their talents, work?elieve me they wont get
proud?t?l make them thankful to god .
chung lao:
thanks for your time liza. gracias. next up
