A. Julia Autumn Dering: Welcome to the world Ms.
Julia.
Much Love.
B. Washington 35 NY Giants 20: This was a big, big
win for the Skins. After what the Giants did to us earlier in
the season, and with
so much on the line,
it was time for some payback.
Whether you're a Skins fan or not, there is one thing you can't deny.
The Washington Redskins are peaking at the right time.
Every player on the team stepped up in a big way. Ramsey?
Portis? Cooley? Brunell? Defense? Oh, and
how can I forget. Giants secondary, meet our Pro Bowl
WR
Santana Moss.
5 Rec, 160 yds, 3 TDs. You better believe it son.
You got WAXED!
There's a big game this week against Philly with so much on the
line. I know they don't have McNabb, Owens or Westbrook, but
you know the Eagles would like nothing better than to knock us out
of the playoffs.
Come on now.
We've got a shot at the division, and playoff implications as well.
We've come too far to let it all slip away at the Linc. Focus
fellas.
Focus.
Our destiny is right in front of us. Let's do it.
And that Ladies and Gentlemen will be my last update of 2005.
We'll see you on the flip side.
Congrats Jaime
& Brenda,
Congrats James & Annie!
New BSC Media,
THE DALLAS COWBOYS JUST GOT
SWEPT
& FELIZ NAVIDAD - MERRY
CHRISTMAS........
**Before I get into my update I want to wish each and every one of you a Merry
Christmas. Or as some say, Christhamas. We have a lot to be thankful
for. The Lord has blessed us in many ways this past year. Stay Safe
and God Bless. - The Syndicate**
A.
On behalf of everyone here at IPF, we want to congratulate our own webmaster Brenda on
her wedding to Jaime Rivera this past Saturday. I was able to
attend the wedding (was great) and I wish them both well. While I'm on the subject, I
want to specifically shout out some peoples. First, two gentlemens. One
Stanley Thumpi, and one
Mathew (The Incredibles) John aka
Roy Sarre.
Mr. Belvedere?
Errol & Tessy, the Barros/Rivera familes & the city of Houston. Much Love.
B.
The congrats continue....On behalf of everyone here at IPF, we want to
congratulate James & Annie Dering on the birth of their baby daughter (on
Saturday),
Julia Autumn Dering.
Much Love.
Will post pics as soon as they come in...
C. New BSC Media:
BSC Clips 5 & 6 have been posted. Be sure to check them out...
D
. Washington 35 Dallas 7 : Ladies and Gentlemen.
Ladies and Gentlemen. Ladies and Gentlemen. For the
first time since 1995, the Washington Redskins have
SWEPT
the dallas cowgirls. Some of you might have thought that first
win was a fluke. Well this win left no doubt. This was
the largest margin on victory between these two teams in
HISTORY. Oh and
did Parcells even shake Gibbs hand
at the end of this game? Feeling bitter Bill? Someone find out for me on this one....
B. Washington 17 Arizona 13: A WIN IS A WIN IS A
WIN. We should have beaten this team, and we did.
Barely. But we pulled it out. I'm starting to rethink my
stance on Clinton Portis.
He made some BIG plays yesterday.
Oh and I think the Arizona wide-outs are pretty good. Just
thought you should know.
We'll need to win out before I start using the P word. Big
Dallas game coming up...
A.
IPF would like to congratulate the Washington United Christian Academy (WUCA) on
receiving the School of the Year 2005 award from the Association of Christian
Schools International (ACSI). As a former student in this school, I can
say that a lot of good is being done here. This award deserves some
recognition. Much Love.
B. Final Week: All, this is the final week to purchase an IPF
T-shirt. This edition of our T-shirt run will end FOR GOOD, next Monday night.
C. Blue Team 2005:
Shout out to all the
members of Blue Team (Flag football). We're taking the whole enchilada
next year. You heard it here. Much Love.
D. Football - American Folly?: There was an interesting post on
the Message Board a few days ago that went a little something like this:
'Football' is far over-rated in the US. How come
Americans always pick the lazy sports to get crazy over? ...baseball...golf...nascar???
Come on folks...pick some real sports with end-to-end action.
rugby...'soccer'...hockey... - Guest
Come on now.
I can only speak for those of us born and raised in the US of A, but
what did you expect us to like? Water Polo? Professional
Ping Pong?
Football is the best sport to play and watch. Honorable
mention goes to Basketball. I would dare to say that
worldwide soccer is the only sport in the world that gets higher
ratings than American football. Soccer deserves its respect.
Their athletes are among the
best conditioned in the world. While it's fun to play, the
problem I have is that scoring seems so rare in soccer games,
it's kind of like watching the Chicago Bears play.
Shout out to.....well you know who.
E. Washington 24 - St Louis 9: This win was an old
fashioned Redskins football game. Run the football right at
them. Wear them down. Beat the opponent into submission.
One thing though, we need to stop fumbling the football!
Aaarrghh.
But, all in all, this was no doubt a good win. We need a
few more W's before I start using the P word though.
"Playoffs? PLAYOFFS?" - Jim Mora.
F. The Chronicles of Narnia: Opens this Friday,

Still Interested in an IPF T-Shirt?
A.
Some readers have shown interest in
purchasing an
IPF t-shirt. Well,
to those of you who are still interested, just drop us a line and be sure to
include your e-mail address. IPF will be taking down names and placing a
bulk order within the next two weeks as we have sold out of our original batch. Children's sizes are available.
The deadline to send us your t-shirt request(s) is Monday, December 12, 2005, by
12 midnight. This will
be the last time this edition of the IPF T-shirt is offered.
Shirts are $15 US dollars (includes taxes, shipping & handling)
B. San Diego 23 Washington 17: Well
Redskins fans, there comes a point in every season where a loyal
fan has to face reality. The New York Knicks stink.
Marty ball featuring one LT,
ran us out of the stadium.
With 2 straight losses at home, and only one win on the
road, the season is just about over when it comes to
seriously contending for a playoff berth. 9-7 is still
possible, but 7-9 / 8-8 is more likely.
A. Pastor John Bechtel of Calvary Assemblies of God in Union, NJ, has
been interviewed for The Tonight Show.
Be sure to check it out.
B. The Thanksgiving Special: Ladies and Gentlemen. For my
Thanksgiving special, read Section C, but let me say this first. We
have a lot to be grateful for. The Lord has blessed each one of us over
the course of this year. Don't think so?
Well, the Washington Wizards are 5-4, and
the New York Knicks are 3-7.
Shout out to IPF Webmaster
Binu.
But seriously, you woke up this morning, right? Sometimes the little
things can mean the most.
Have a great
Thanksgiving all. Much
Love.
C
. Oakland 16 Washington 13: I have to admit I
didn't watch this game, I was out playing football. Turns out, it's a good
thing I didn't. This was a TERRIBLE loss to a bottom feeder team at home.
Norv Turner got a good night's sleep last night didn't he? Unacceptable.
With the NFC log jammed with 6+ win teams, it's not looking good for the 5-5
Skins.
Last, I may have to eat some humble pie come season's end.
............But I'll be eating it with my Skins hat on. WHAT.
A.
Our next batch of clips (3 &4) have been posted. Be sure to check them out....
B. West Coast Customs:
You know, I don't like the stock Dodge Charger. For
one thing, the design is way too bland for a car with that
kind of heritage. Second, why is a supposed muscle car
look like a 4 door sedan?
BUT, having said all
of that, I have to give it up for this Charger done up by
none other than West Coast Customs.
Stock
or West Coast Customs. You decide.
C. Tampa Bay 36 Washington 35:
If we get blown out, fine. But if we lose a game by one point, that we
clearly should have won, it's much tougher to swallow. Down 21-10, we were
able to go up 35-28 on the road, but we just couldn't stop the Buccaneers from
scoring.
Specifically one Walt Harris.
This guy has been getting torched for the past 2 games on BIG PLAYS. I
still have NO CLUE as to why he's still a starter???? Maybe he was just in
on that particular play b/c of the defensive package? But he couldn't
cover his man! This was an ideal opportunity to win the game, and we let
it slip away.
Inexcusable.
Oh
and one more thing, the LaVar leap doesn't work in the NFL.
A. Washington 17 Philadelphia 10:
The Redskins are becoming competitive in their own division. This is big.
Since 2001, the Skins have had the worst division record in the NFC East.
8-20.
As of 2005, we've ended the Cowboy's winning streak over us & we've ended
Philly's winning streak.
2-1
in the division at the midway point.
Not bad.
Speaking of Philly, let me break it down for you a little more:
Exhibit A: Donovan McNabb,
Welcome to Fedex
Field.
Not today buddy, not today.
Exhibit B: Mike Sellers, meet Brian Dawkins.
Exhibit C: Fan of the Game. Woooooo. Yeahhhh.
B.
Terrell Owens:
T.O.
The
biggest cry baby in the NFL.
This guy was crying that the Eagles didn't recognize his 100th TD catch.
This guy was crying that he wished Brett Favre was his QB. You know
what T.O, there is no I in team. I don't care how great this guy is as a
player, you don't undermine your team with stupid comments. This guy is
going to be a
mercenary receiver
the rest of his career. Selling his services to the highest bidder.
Andy Reid and the Eagles made the right move in benching him.

IPF T-shirt Pics
& New BSC Media Clips #2, #3
A.
Many of you purchased one of our IPF T-shirts this year. Over the past few
weeks, we've been collecting pics of you guys wearing them. So! We're
going to release these pictures one at a time, starting today.
EveryMonday - Friday,
you can view them on the
index page. We'll place them all in a gallery at
the end of the picture run.
Having said that, we still don't have
all of your pics! For
everyone else that bought one of our T-shirts, please submit your pic(s) to
chunglao@hotmail.com. Much Love.
B. BSC Media Clip #2: FYI - we're going
to do our best to release these media clips in the correct order of appearance.
Also, we've condensed all game footage into noteworthy highlight clips.
Check
out Clips #2 and #3.
C.
New York 36 -
Washington 0: Well, two words. Butt Whooping. As hard as it
is for me to type those words, that's exactly what happened. In every faze
of the game, the Skins stumbled and bumbled.
The passing of Wellington Mara
brought the Giants to an intensity level that we weren't able to match. No
excuses though.
A beat down is
a beat down. Tony Kornheiser, a columnist for the Washington Post put it
best: "The
Redskins were simply so awful they would have lost to Wellington Mara's 40
grandchildren."
But it's all good Giants fans, we'll see you at Fedex.
D.
A Quote to Remember: I'll leave you with a quote from
Condoleezza Rice.
"I can
honestly say that without Mrs. Parks, I probably would not be standing here
today as secretary of state."
A. Shawn Jacob has been interviewed for
The
Tonight Show.
Be sure to check it out.
B. Washington 52 - San Francisco 17:
Confidence. That's what the Skins will take away from this game. We
beat a team that we needed to blow out, and guess what. WE DID!
Yes, it was the 49ers that rank last in the league in almost every category.
But tell that to the Cowboys, who were almost upset by them. Tell that to
the Rams, whom the 49ers beat on opening day. We took care of business.
On any given
Sunday in the NFL, any team can beat you, so you have to handle your business,
and that's what we did. We got 4 rushing TD's, 2 turnovers, and got LaVar
back into the game. Next up: The NY
Giants.
Let the smack begin. 4-2.
A.
Alright Ladies and Gentlemen, our BSC Media clips are finally here. Hoo-Rah.
The release schedule for these clips will be as follows: A MINIMUM
of two brand new BSC Clips will be released EVERY MONTH until AUGUST
2006. You read that right.
AUGUST 2006.
These clips will range from promos (like the one below), to game footage, to
interviews. So, we begin. Today's clip was written, produced and
sponsored by Friendsters. Don't get it twisted.
IndaPhatFarm.
100%
Original.
B. Kansas City 28 - Washington 21: The
Washington Redskins have 2 problems. If they can fix these 2 problems,
we'll be in the Super Bowl. AND WHAT? Read..
1.
Turnovers:
The Skins have shown a lot of resiliency over the past 6 weeks. While this
is good, all the resiliency in the world will not save you from losing, after
you commit 3 turnovers. We're making stupid mistakes, and not creating any
turnovers defensively. Also, Chris Samuels got exposed, BIG TIME
yesterday.
2.
Rushing TD's:
Clinton Portis needs to man up, lower his shoulders, and score a rushing TD.
Clinton, if you're reading this, call me up and I'll show you how it's done.
Congratulations Lakshmi!
& More of Your Letters....
A.
On behalf of the entire IPF Syndicate, as well as your readers, I want to extend
our congrats to IPF columnist 'Lakshmi Aunty'
on the birth of her 3rd child, a boy, named Abhishek Mathew.
Much Love to the parents & family of this 7 pound, Lakshmi clone.
B. More Letters from the IPF Audience - Part 3:
This latest submission comes in from Linda.
"How about a direct link to author's of IPF WITH their articles? For
comments, etc. Ex. I just read an article and a stream of thoughts hit me,
and I want to contact the author to share. Maybe you can hook-it-up? Just a
thought. Love visiting this site."
Linda, that's actually
a great idea, so here's what we've done.
1.
You can now directly access the updates of individual webmasters, Inspirations
writers, and columnists via the brand new IPF Staff Columns section at
the top of this page. Just scroll your mouse over the buttons up top and
use the drop down menus to access the updates of all our writers dating back to
2001.
*Please NOTE: We
should have all of the IPF staff added by the end of the week.
2.
From now on, we will include the e-mail addresses of every writer on this website,
IN THEIR
UPDATES, at
the bottom of their update boxes. In addition, we will include a direct
link to the
"Dear IPF Columnists & Webmasters" Message Board",
where you can post any and all questions. Great suggestion Linda.
C. 2005 BSC Clips: We begin posting
clips NEXT MONDAY.
You know how we do.
D. Broncos 21 - Redskins 19: There are
no moral victories in the National Football League. Don't ever forget
that. A win is a win is a win. Having said all of that, I can't say
that I'm that bothered by
our loss to the Broncos yesterday.
Yes, we had too many penalties, we had a penalty that negated a field goal
attempt, and a penalty that negated a sure touchdown reception. To top it
all off, we had a blocked field goal, which was the difference in the game.
BUT, the major
difference from last year is that this team continues to fight, even when
their backs are against the wall. Last year after a big penalty or botched
play, this team was done for, and we all knew it. If we can find a way to
punch the ball into the end zone via the ground game, this team is going to be
scary good. 3-1.
Boycott CNN
& More Letters from the IPF Audience...
A.
CNN ran a piece last week during Paula Zahn's hour. It went a little
something like this: "Tired of
high gas prices? When we come back, we take a look at just how much the
President is spending on his trips to and from the Gulf Coast areas."What
kind of garbage is that?? So the President is damned if he goes to the
Gulf Coast too much (he's wasting too much gas), and he's damned if he doesn't
go enough (the President is insensitive to the needs of citizens, and out of
touch).
If you needed any more evidence on how biased the media has become in this
country, you don't have to look any further than that. What's the good news?
B. More Letters from the IPF Audience:
Well, it's time for
Round 2, here goes. This latest submission comes in from a viewer we will
describe as Stembb:
"What do you think about the idiotic acts of wacked kids pulling fire alarms
during university exams?? do you think the exams should be graded as they are,
be given a new exam, or just forget about it..? this is my horrible situation
right now."
Stembb
, why did you
pull the fire alarm in the first place? ;)
C.
Countdown to BSC Clips: Many have inquired about 2005 BSC
Media Clips. Well I have good news. We will begin releasing Media
clips in 2 weeks time. That's October 17th. Stay tuned in. Thangu.
D. The NFC East is up for Grabs: With
the Giants and Eagles at 3-1, the Cowboys at 2-2, and the surging Redskins at
3-0, this once great division in pro football, is now officially back in action.
At this point in the season, it's way to early to predict who will do what.
The Eagles are clearly still the team to beat, but in the weak NFC, there will
be plenty of other playoff spots available for NFC East members.
Now, on to the
Washington Redskins. "Chris, you like football?" Well, yes. "I
had no idea!" Well, let me break it down for you. “I
felt like jumping off the top of FedEx field,” Brunell said. “It’s a great win
and I couldn’t be more proud of our rookie kicker.”
Exactly. Against the #2 Ranked offense in the NFL, the Skins made plays,
and gave up plays (Is it just me, or do the Seahawks receivers seem
underrated?). We were able to "contain" Shawn Alexander as best as
possible, and then we got plain lucky.
Seattle had
picked off Mark Brunell with a little over a minute left. They got into
their kicker's range, and this 47 yard field goal seemed a sure bet after this guy
had hit a 53 yarder earlier in the day. Game looked to be over. "The
Kick is up....NO GOOD! NO GOOD! It hit the left upright and bounced
off!!" Game went to overtime, and
University of
Maryland alumni
Nick Novak came in and booted the game winning field goal.
E.Hogwash:(noun) (Slang) worthless, false or
ridiculous stuff; nonsense. refusal to feed hogs; swill. Unacceptable behavior
(especially ludicrously false statements).
I would like to
dedicate this word usage to IPF Webmaster
Susan.
Honorable mention goes out to
Lakshmi Aunty.

New Interview
& Letters from the IPF Audience....
A.
Glenn Thomas has been interviewed (new) for The Tonight Show.
Check it out....
B. Hurricane Aftermath: Well it looks
like H-town was able to avoid the brunt of this latest Hurricane. Someone
was telling me they were in the car for
25 hours,
no a/c (to conserve fuel), in 100 degree weather. Imagine being stuck in
that, not knowing if you would have a home to come back to. For all the
hardship endured, a lot of lives were spared. Ladies and Gentlemen, be grateful
for every day the Lord grants us.
C. Letters from the IPF Audience: Every
now and then, I will respond to select letters that you, the IPF audience
submits. This first letter comes in from Joel, he writes:
"yo nice web site. I enjoy coming here to surf. There is one thing I feel you
should work on, its respect....for instance Bubba. President Clinton should be
treated with the same amount of respect, as you give to any other president."
Joel, Bill Clinton is
the best politician I've ever seen in my life. The man could walk into Bin
Laden's command cave, and come out 5 minutes later with everyone inside wearing
a
"Hillary in 2008"
t-shirt. He's incredible in that way.
Having said all of
that, I don't think the man was a good moral guide or compass for the country.
In addition, he is partly to blame for the lack of response to repeated
terrorist attacks (In all fairness, both Bush's bare some of this responsibility
too). But having said that, the terrorists seemed emboldened with the breadth and scope of
their attacks under Bill Clinton, and not much was done to stop them.
Firing some cruise missiles into Sudan & ignoring the bombing of the USS Cole
(to name a few), is not getting the job done.
That's my 3 cents.
I will do my best to get to your e-mails over the next couple of weeks.
Have a question? Feel free to drop us a line.

I can only describe this win over the Cowgirls as one of
the
biggest
I've ever had the chance to see. For the first time
in 10 years, we beat them IN THEIR HOUSE. For only the 2nd time in
16 tries, we beat them period!
You
Dallas fans thought the game was won ehhhh????? Thought it was in the bag!
Same old Skins! Not last night!!! HAHA!

BSC Batch 4 Pics
& IPF Casting Call....
A.
19 new pics have been added via Batch 4.
Check them out....
B. Casting Call - IPF Writers:Everyone, we
here at IPF are always in the market for new writers. If you're interested
in writing for us, or just want to help out in some way, hit me up at: chunglao@hotmail.com.
Much Love.
C. The Bengals
are 2-0: Believe It. The Cincinnati Bengals are FOR REAL.
Carson Palmer is going to be a GREAT QB in the NFL. They have great
weapons on offense, and with a coach like Marvin Lewis, you know their defense
will always be solid. The Bengals will make the playoffs this season.
Quite a step up
for a team that was once the whipping boy of the league.
D. Mark Brunell:
To all the Redskins fans out there, I know there's been a lot of hoopla
surrounding the
benching
of Patrick Ramsey. Here's my 2 cents. Ramsey has shown signs of
greatness, and also signs of Ryan Leaf redux. As good as Ramsey's
"potential" is, he is killing the Skins with his stupid mistakes.
Mark Brunell
isn't going to light up the world with his skills. The guy is 35 now.
BUT. What I am counting on him to do, is use his veteran savvy to limit or
eliminate turnovers. I know he stank up the joint last year, but the guy
has had time to rest up and become more familiar with Gibb's system. Win
or Lose tonight, I think this was the right move
to make at the QB position.

<------ Washington Redskins
Fan
A.
It's come to my attention that some of you out there, in the vast beyond, doubt
my loyalty to the Washington Redskins. Well, let me break it down for
you. While almost every prognosticator in the nation has penned the
Redskins at 5-11, 4-12 this year. While everyone has penned the Skins to
finish LAST in our division, like a bunch of washed up old men, let me smash
these falsehoods and break
down
what it means to be a true Redskins fan.
1.
You must grow a mullet and wear tight blue jeans.
2.
You must have a jar of Redskins BBQ sauce on hand at ALL TIMES.
3.
You must go to sleep EVERY NIGHT with your very own pair of Redskins Toe
Huggers.
4. Last
but not least, when those pesky Giants, Eagles, Jets & Bears fans get out of
line, kindly send them a copy of the below picture, and tell them count the
hardware.

IPF Message Board Policy...
A.
Everyone, I want to take this time to
restate our Message Board Policy. In particular, any discussion on the IPF
Boards having to do with the leadership of any church will be deleted on sight.
IPF is not the place for those kind of posts.
Having said
that, discussing a church event, retreat, youth camp, etc is STILL FINE.
I want to make that clear. Thank you, and stay in school.

Sup all. IPF has been brought back up to date. Our
Message Boards
however, lost posts from the middle of last week, Aug 24-25 to Aug 30. I
want to reiterate that no posts were deleted by us. This whole
incident was not our doing, you can thank our glorious hosting company!
But it's all good, we're no worse for wear.

you are able to, please donate to the relief effort. This disaster is

2005 BSC Pics
& Remembrance: Bro. Joe......
A.
120 pics from the 2005 BSC have been
posted in 3 batches. We should have a few more batches coming in.
Give it about 2-3 weeks. Enjoy.
B. Football Tourney?: There's been some
speculation going around about a possible football tourney. Here's
what I can say. It would be held in NY around November-December. It
would be on a Saturday. 6 teams from the east coast. Everyone plays
everyone - BSC style. It's not a matter of can it be done, it's only a
matter of time....
C. Remembrance - Bro Joe Rosado: Bro.
Joe's section is now active. If you would like to submit a testimonial
about Bro. Joe, please use the form on his page in Remembrance. Also, we
are compiling pictures of Bro. Joe's life. If you have any, please send
them to
chunglao@hotmail.com. Thanks.
D. How much do we love the Lord?: I had
a discussion the other day with someone and a question came up, how much do we
love the Lord? It's easy to sit here and ask the question, but until we
take action and actually show it, it really means nothing.
Just something to think about.

The Official 2005 BSC RECAP...
A.
Well, the 2005 BSC is in the books, and what a BSC it was.. Chicago's
Finest ended Philly's Dynasty hopes in convincing fashion. We had 8 teams
come out this year, including Houston and Chicago, making it our biggest tourney
to date. Shout out to all 8 teams for making the effort.
B. Shout Outs: I want to shout out
several people for their help this year. First off, IPF webmasters
Binu
Varughese and VInod Varghese. Their help was invaluable this year.
Also, Josue, Jon (IPF), & Jeremy Flores. Shout out to my cuzzin Josh
Kurikeshu, who became the best game clock manager over the course of this
tourney. MUCH LOVE. Also, shout out to Bro. Ricardo, Dinesh, Sheebu
Thomas & Crystal (IPF) for handling our video/pics this year. Special
shout out to Rejichan & family, Soumini John for keeping DC & other teams hydrated/fed. Caleb
& Judah Asomugha, Blessan Chacko, Reena Geevarghese, Lovin Matthew, for managing
the Game Clock/Scoring tables. I'd also like to thank my dad for his help
before, during & after this tourney. Shout out to anyone I missed.
Now, i'd like
to shout out.....
DC'Z
FANSSSS!!!!
There were
times on Saturday that I felt goosebumps b/c of our crowd. Whenever DC
made a basket, the bleachers would be stomping/rocking and our fans were
screaming/cheering like CRAZY. To be fair, there were fans from Toronto,
Brooklyn, Philly, and more in attendance. Much Love to them. But DC,
you held it down. It was
GREAT to see.
C. Power
Rankings: Well, it's time for my power rankings. One thing I
love about these tournaments is their finality. People can talk all they
want about what team is best, but in the end, there is one undisputed champion.
1. (5-2) Chicago:
The new Champs. This team started off 0-2, many people
(including myself), thought they were done. But they were
just getting started. Behind the solid guard play of the Hamgeri brothers, Josue's inside presence as well as
leadership on the court, and Big Dave, Chi-town's finest willed
themselves to the championship.
2.
(5-2) Philly:
Well, the Ballazz were back where they thought they would be, in
the Championship game. The thing they weren't ready for, is Chicago.
The play of the Chacko brothers was great as always, but once they were taken
out of their game defensively, the jig was up. Having said all that, let's not fool
ourselves, this team is a perennial contender.
3. (3-3) DCZ Finest: A much improved team over the '04 squad. Sam John was the
heart of the team. He played like a champ. Aba and Josh Asamugha
were much improved this year as well. DCZ Finest gave everyone they played
a run for their money.
Look for this team in
2006!
4.
(3-3) TX Dirty South:
Consider this. TX only lost to DC by one point. In addition, TX
beat both Chicago and Philly WITHOUT one of their best players, Benson.
Anyone who thinks this
team isn't a title contender going into 2006, is fooling themselves.
5.
(3-2) Brooklyn:
They weren't a bad team. There just weren't enough playoff spots for them.
If TX/Chicago didn't come out, Brooklyn would have made the playoffs. But
that is a moot point. The addition of Jason Burnett was a solid one.
But Brooklyn needs more of an inside presence to be a contender at this point.
6.
(2-3) Yonkers:
For the second straight year, Yonkers showed improvement. They were in
every game they played, and pushed every opponent. I was particularly
impressed with the play of their big man, as well as the play of Terrill George.
This team continues to make strides.
7.
(1-4) Strong Island:
Well, this team had its ups and downs, played some close ones, but in the
end, they just couldn't pull it out.
Award for Best
Jersey's goes to the Stunnaz.
8.
(1-4) Newark: Well, shout out to Newark for showing up, we
appreciate that, but this team was clearly overmatched.
Get in touch with me early next year fellas, hopefully you guys will be better
prepared next year.
D. Improvements for '06: As with the
previous tournaments, there was improvement and room for more improvement.
Here's where I feel we need to improve:
1.
2-Day Tournament:
Many of the teams represented lost their players during the course of the day
due to cramping & injuries. These may have been avoided had the tournament
been a 2-Day event, giving more rest time. Now, the flip side is, you
can't fully prevent cramping. When it comes, it comes. BUT, we will
look into the 2-Day option.
2.
Timer In Between Games:
We will be implementing a timer in between games, 5-6 minutes or so, upon which
the buzzer will sound. This will improve the response time of teams
getting on to the court, as well as allowing the refs to know exactly when the
next game begins.
3.
Better Communication:
There will be better communication between myself & the scoring tables. In
addition, the people who run these tables will be hand selected by the BSC
planning committee BEFOREHAND. They will be fully informed about the
rules/regulations prior to manning their tables. This should help to
eliminate any confusion.
If I missed
anything, please post it on the BSC board. Remember, these tourney's are
works in progress. Having said that, with every year that passes, we are
improving.
Pics/Media are coming
in
from all over the place, so please bear with us as we compile them. I will
have scoring recaps for you soon. Once again, shout out to everyone that
came out.
We appreciate
your show of support.
Let's
continue to make this a yearly event. Much
Love.

Bro. Joe Rosado -
WE WILL NEVER FORGET...
A.
You know, I woke up this morning, thinking
I had a bad dream. A really bad dream. Turned out it wasn't a dream.
I want to take
this time to remember Bro. Joe Rosado, who passed away yesterday, July 26th,
2005. We all knew him as Bro. Joe. I first met Bro. Joe at a
revival meeting back in 1996-97. A couple of the youth from my church went
up to New York for the meetings, and he took us around NY and ministered to us
in the process. Never fake, Bro. Joe defined keeping it real. Anyone
that knew him could vouch for that.
If you don't know much about me by now, you at least know
this:
I'm not one to write about idle sentimentality.
This man made a difference in my life, and the lives of so many others. By
simply being real, and listening to God, he was able to influence so many lives.
It really is incredible.
Hearing
about what happened put me in a state of complete shock. What is making this that much harder, is the fact that I just saw him a
few weeks ago & spent time with him. This isn't suppose to happen this way,
right? Well the bottom line is this not one of us is promised tomorrow.
Here are just a
few of the things I will remember about Bro. Joe:
He would always greet you with a smile. He always seemed to radiate a
positive attitude. He'd always have a funny story ready in hand to put you
in a better mood. Even after his passing, I can still picture him smiling.
I know that he wouldn't of wanted us to make a big deal out of this, that's just
the way he was.
Another thing I really admired about Bro. Joe was his sense of humor. Coupled
with that New Jerzzzeey accent, and we had the makings of some "great" sermons.
For example, how many times have you heard any of the following:
1. Ehh, Listenn, Listenn!
2. Broddas, Broddas, Cheese o' Peppowoni!
For those of us who knew him,
admired him, loved him, we are still in a state of complete shock. Please
keep us in your prayers. I will leave you with the final words Bro Joe spoke to
me, just a few short weeks ago. He said:
"Chris, do
what's right, and:
RIGHTEOUSNESS WILL PREVAIL,
RIGHTEOUSNESS WILL PREVAIL."
We will never forget.

2005 BSC: RINGERS Update &
Ask Lakshmi Aunty....
A.BSC 2005 - Ringers:
We have
looked over every 2005 team roster, talked to the team heads with "questionable"
players, and
VERIFIED
every team. I repeat, all players listed on the 2005 Rosters have met the
guidelines of this tournament.
B.BSC 2005 - Countdown:
The Countdown has begun (see right hand side).
C.BSC 2005 - Covert Operations:
Has anyone else noticed the covert
operations going on between some of the teams? Take an in-depth look at
the following conversation:
Team Head
1: So, you guys been practicing?
Team Head
2: Naa, everyone’s been really busy. No time for
it.
(Later that day)
Team Head
3: You guys been practicing?
Team Head
2: Nope. We’re not that good this year man, I’m
telling you..
(Later that evening in an air conditioned indoor gym)
Team Head
2: Hey, remember to bring the print out detailing
our offensive schemes against Chicago and DC’s zone defense. Also, call John up
and tell him if he doesn’t get his butt to practice, he’s off the team!
Player 2: Roger that team leader.
I rest my case.

Tourney 2005: NO RINGERS:
Gentlemen, myself, Vinod and Binu are in the process of going through each
roster.
Our goal is to eliminate ringers.
We should have this wrapped up by next Monday.
C.
Contact Forms Restored:
As stated previously, our contact forms have been restored. We apologize
for any missed submissions over the past few weeks.
D. So Long Kwame, Thanks for Nothing:
That was the headline of Washington Post sportswriter, Mike Wilbon's column this
past Saturday.
I couldn't have said it better myself.
Well
last week it was bad news about Larry Hughes. It seems fitting that I have
some good news for you, and NO, I didn't save a bunch on money on my car
insurance by switching to GEICO (shout out to IPF Webmaster Binu). Even better than that.
Kwame Brown, one of the biggest busts in the
history of the Wizards, not to mention the NBA, is being
SHIPPED OUT of
Washington! PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE FOLLOWING SENTENCE: Players
coming straight from High School should be the exception, not the rule.
For every Lebron, Kobe, & Garnett, there are 50 Kwame's. Players who while
physically ready, are cry babies mentally. For the past 4 years, there's
been nothing but whine from this guy.
The greatest player in the history of the game
drafted him, and even strapped on a suit to play with him, and guess what?
Kwame whined. Kwame didn't listen. He openly dissed his coach.
You don't get anymore "bust" than that. In any case,
we're getting 2 solid role players in Caron Butler, and Chucky Atkins via the
trade w/the Lakers. Guys that will play and ACT
like grown men.
Now some Wizards fans are crying foul at the fact
that the Wizz have let Richard Hamilton, Rasheed Wallace, Ben Wallace, Chris
Webber go, only to have those players become All-Stars, and some have even won
championships. Well, whatever happens, and you can quote me on this.
Getting rid of the guy who abandoned his team during their first playoff run in
decades citing stomach problems (and was seen later that night stuffing his face
at a Chinese restaurant), is the best decision the Wizards have made in the LAST 10 YEARS.
Peace Out.

NOW ONLINE,
London & Larry Hughes..
A.
Finally, Finally, Finally, all rosters are in.
Take a look.

T-minus a month
and change. All systems are go.
B. London Terrorist Attacks -
The world has to stand up and take notice. It is impossible to negotiate
with terrorists. It's cut and dry. They could care less about you
and I. They want us dead. We have to take the fight to them. The "left" in this country
is so worried about the rights of terrorist
prisoners in G. Bay, that they've lost sight
of the fact that these people would slit each
and every one of their throats in a
heartbeat.
Someone made
a statement to me recently that terrorist attacks are becoming "normal" now, and
that they're not as big a deal as they were.
Don't
ever let this be normal in your mind.
C. Larry Hughes - Well
it looks like the Wizards return to prominence just had a major setback. Larry Hughes,
one of the centerpieces of Washington's rebuilding efforts, has agreed to sign
on with the Cleveland Cavaliers. What this means is, Larry is about to
become Robin to Lebron's Batman.
I mean, I can't hate on Larry.
Who wouldn't take a 5 year, $70 million dollar deal. Ya heard?? BUT,
for a franchise that needs all the credibility and talent it can get to restore
its image, this is a HUGE
let down. Think about this, we had 3 players averaging 20 pts per game!
What really puts salt in the wound is the fact that Larry was #1 in the NBA in
steals last year. He was our best threat on defense.
Gilbert Arenas, the Wizard's #1
go to guy has become an all-star. But without that 2nd option - L. Hughes, It's going
to be tough to build on last year's momentum. I'm not saying we'll be
under .500, but I think we just took 2 steps back, after taking a step forward.
But it's all good, even with 5
monkeys, we'll still be
better than the Knicks. :)

D.
Newark is OUT-
Newark will not be attending this year's tourney. Everything is moving forward as planned. We still have 7
teams coming out this year, which is an improvement over the previous 2 years - 6
teams.
E.
Robert Horry-
My hat is off to Robert Horry of the San Antonio Spurs. The man doesn't
put up consistently huge numbers, but he is the best clutch shooter of my
lifetime.
When the pressure is on, just give him the
ball.
Maybe that's why he's working on

Special IPF Preview:
WUCA-FA - The Vision CD Clips!
Houston & Chicago Confirmed!
& Hail to the Wizards...
A.
IPF is pleased to bring you Audio Sound Bites of the upcoming Vision CD
project from WUCA_FA. Check them out:
The Vision benefit CD
will be coming out in early July, and its main purpose is to
glorify our Lord Jesus
Christ through top–notch quality songs of praise, worship, and encouragement.
The second purpose of The Vision CD is to raise money for a new school building
for the Washington United Christian Academy (WUCA). The principal of WUCA is
Bro. Abraham T. Moses. The school has been in existence for over 20
years and provides quality Christian education to children of all nationalities
and is especially directed to meeting the needs of lower income families.
The
Washington United Christian Academy Alumni and Friends Association (WUCA_AFA) in
association with Masterpiece Music Productions has put together a compilation of
original songs whose styles include contemporary Gospel, Praise & Worship,
Indian, Caribbean, and Latin Praise. We believe that this CD will have something
for everyone and pray that many are able to support this cause in whatever way
possible. Also, we pray that God will lay it upon many to give heartily. These
audio clips are bits and pieces of a few songs that will be on The Vision CD. We
hope that you are captured by The Vision and that you share its cause with
others. In conclusion, we would like to leave you with the words from one of
our songs,
"I Will Go…Do you hear our voices we're crying. Hungering for your
touch we are dying. Will you reach out to help us Will you walk away. Will you
close up your heart …"

Chicago confirmed!
For the first time in the history of the BSC, both Houston and Chicago will be coming out!
I got word from the respective team reps late last night. Now that the
confirmation phase is complete, expect a full update regarding the Tourney, NEXT MONDAY. You have my word.
C.We'll get them next year Wizards fans: "Chris, you're
team got pasted, AND might I add, SWEPT!" Yeah, yeah, I know. But
tell me, how do you stop these two?
Exactly.
But listen up boys and girls b/c here's the point: Do you
still think of the
Wizards
as pathetic? The answer is no. They made serious strides this
season, by making it to the 2nd round of the playoffs and in doing so, repaired
their rep league wide. You can't deny that. For a franchise that's
been a loser for most of the past 2 decades, building a stable, winning
organization takes time.
The Washington
Wizards
are finally moving in the right direction.

Wizards Stampede the Bulls
& Advance to Round 2...
A.
How
about some RESPECT for the Washington Wizards? Down in a seemingly
insurmountable, series ending, 0-2 hole, they came back to become only the 9th
team in NBA history, to win the series after being down 0-2.
For those of
you who don't follow basketball, let me break
it down for you.
The Wizards have been a garbage team for as long as I've been alive. Over
the last 23 + years, if you wanted to rank the worst team in the NBA, the
Wizards would be above the Clippers, and that's about it. They've been
that bad. So when the team advances to Round 2 of the playoffs, it's
border-line insanity.
So, having said
all of that, do the Wizz have a shot against Shaq and the Miami Heat (who they
lost Game 1 to)?. YOU BETTER
BELIEVE IT. "Chris,
you're being naive and allowing your unwavering loyalty toward your home team to
cloud the fact that Shaq is going to destroy you guys." Sorry, but everything has its
beginning, and the real Washington Wizards, for the first time in 23 years, have
begun their ascent.
Watch out.....

Houston and Chicago
D.Washington Nationals Win Home Opener: Once in while
in the sports, an event happens that's worthy of mention.
As you may or may not know, the Washington Nationals moved down
here from
Montreal. A
place that routinely saw the fans number in the four digits.
This lack of support got into the minds of the players and made
them one of the worst teams in baseball.
Not so in DC. Welcome Home.
46,000
strong packed into RFK stadium
for the home opener a few days ago, including President Bush. Some of the Nats players were moved to tears by the show of support (and
they seem to be playing harder b/c of it). Will all this
last? Who knows.
But I am here to say that I am now officially a Washington
Nationals fan. "Chris I'm so happy for you, let me shake
your hand." Yes, yes, thank you.
Oh yeah, one more thing.
I'm still not a baseball fan.
E.Washington Wizards: Speaking of good things in DC, I want to take this time to shout out MJ of the Washington
Wizards. That's right, MJ. True, there once was another Mr. Jordan in Washington, but even
when he suited up, he couldn't do what the current Mr. Jordan has done.
Who am I talking about?
Coach Eddie Jordan.
Taking the Wizz back to the playoffs for the first time since 1997.

BSC 2005: Part 2
- Don't Get it Twisted
& New Media...
A.
I realize this tourney is several months
away, but we need to make sure certain things are clear early on. In 2004,
some people were confused about the BSC. Well, this update is
for you. Please read and understand.
If you choose not to read, or don't know how, I recommend the following link.
1. This
event has not been sanctioned by any particular church, and it is therefore not
an official church event of any kind.
2.Let me
say it again:
This event has not been sanctioned by any particular church, and it is therefore
not an official church event of any kind.
Please write
that down. Post in on your fridge. Tape it to your forehead.
3. If you
are planning on attending the 2005 BSC, and have a prior responsibility such as
a music or prayer ministry, make
arrangements BEFOREHAND.
4. If you
are under your parents, tell them where you're going. Enough said.
There are to be
no misunderstandings.

The 2005 Blessan Samuel Classic
- Planning Phase
A.
For all the latest information regarding the upcoming
tourney, as well as recaps from past tourney's, be sure to check out our revised Tourney 2005 section.
B
.
We're now in the planning phase of the 2005 BSC (in memory of the late Blessan
Samuel). This event has
tentatively been scheduled for August.
Locations are being
scouted in NJ, as it's a
more central point for teams to come to.
However, if we can't find anything suitable, then Gaithersburg is the fall back plan.
Tourney Improvements: Shot
clock, Shot clock, Shot clock. That's probably the biggest
thing we lacked in '04.
We'll be sure to have them.
(We hear you New Jersey.) In terms of official refs, we'll do our best to
have them the entire event, but in the end, it's going
to come down to $$$. We'll see.
Chicago, Houston: If
you would like to participate in this,
we need to know asap so we can plan
accordingly. You guys have missed the last 2 tourney's, so its time to
stop the trash talking, and start the doing.
Benson Samuel? Stanley Thumpi? Josue Flores?
Don't be unproductive like the New York Knicks, and sit at home come playoff
time.
Canada: To all Canadians, you can join
forces up there to form Voltron. Well, maybe not Voltron, but a combined
team.
An e-mail has already been sent out. Join the
fray.
If I missed anyone, let me know.
You can contact us
with comments/suggestions for this event at the following:
C. New Media - Tourney 2004: I will be posting
2 new media clips
from last year's tourney, every week, for the next

D. IPF T-shirts: Last, but not least, I want to thank everyone that
purchased an IPF t-shirt. You can expect
them in a few weeks time.

Super Bowl Recap: New England 24 Philadelphia 21:
Well Super Bowl 39 is in the books. Let me say the following: I am
not an Eagles fan, never have been, never will be. I think it's better not
to go to the Super Bowl, than to go there and lose. Just ask
Freddie Mitchell.
If you talk the talk, you better walk the walk buddy......and why were the
Eagles taking so long to get a play off in the 4th quarter??
Getting to a Super Bowl is one of the hardest things to accomplish in pro
sports, you have to take advantage of every second. Down the stretch, the
Eagles let too much time tick away needlessly. They just didn't match the
intensity of the Pats.
Now, don't get it
twisted. I am not a New England Patriots fan either. But do I like
them more than the Eagles? You
better believe it.
As a loyal
Washington Redskins fan, I will not root for a team in the same division as us.
It's business, it's not personal. You understand of course.
In any case, the
Patriots are now officially an
NFL Dynasty,
with 3 Super Bowl wins in 4 years. Bill Belichick is one of the greatest
coaches of all time, and must now be compared to Chuck Noll, Bill Walsh, and
yes, Joe Gibbs. The man looked like a conductor of a symphony.
Willing every note into place. He grew up around the game with his dad.
Football was all he ever wanted to do.
Well, he did it, and
he did it up big.
Favorite Commercials?
I had 2.
1. The tribute
to U.S. troops by "the company."
2. The NFL
players/coaches who missed the Super Bowl singing, "Tomorrow, Tomorrow".
With a special nod to Jon Gruden, for telling his kids to "knock it off."
Classic.
These are just some of
the reasons why I consider football to be the greatest sport. Even
Bubba has to
agree. Much Love.

C. Who Would Have Thought?: Most people (including me) underestimated
W. I remember when he announced his candidacy, I thought to myself, "He has
the name recognition, the finances, and the political pedigree, this thing may
work." But when he opened his mouth, I was like, "This guy wants to be The
President of the United States?
You have got to be kidding me." I
knew he'd be in for the fight of his life then, but if you had told me he would
be re-elected in 2004, I wouldn't have believed you.
But, give the man credit. He won 2 hard fought elections, and in doing so,
surpassed his own father.
Presidents are defined by the drama and
circumstance that occurs during their tenure. For Bush, he will be judged
by how he handles the war against terrorism and the success of democracy in
Iraq.
It's a tough
task
and only time will tell if he can meet the standard of the men who came before
him. This is why Lincoln,
Washington, FDR have been given their due while others like Coolige, Nixon, and
Clinton, will fade away into the mists of time.
D. Bill Belichick: Well it's time to talk about greatness.
Meet the head coach of the New England Patriots. Winner of 2 Super Bowls
as a head coach, and a member of the coaching staff on 2 more (Giants). He
may not have the verve of Bill Parcells or Herman Edwards, but the man has
rings.
Now, let's talk history. Vince Lombardi, the greatest coach to ever
walk the sidelines, had an 9-1 postseason record. Guess what record Bill Belichick has now? That's right buddy.
9-1
Yep. If the Patriots beat the Eagles in the Super Bowl, Belichick will
have a better playoff winning percentage than the greatest coach in NFL history.
Something to think about.
My Post Championship Thoughts: While I respect the Eagles
ability to persevere, there is no way you'll see me rooting for those guys (for
obvious reasons). I have a feeling that the Eagles are just going to be
happy to get over the hump and into the Super Bowl. Getting there is
commendable. But let's see them win.
The
Patriots have proven themselves, time and time again. They don't need to
play in a dome to win, like the Colts, and they can overpower supposed power
teams, like the Steelers, on enemy turf and in freezing conditions.
Also, for the people that doubt New England's QB Tom Brady, let me say this, his
postseason record is 8-0. The guy doesn't lose big games. We're not
talking about Patrick Ramsey here, Brady is a Hall of Famer. Not because
he puts up big yards like Manning or Culpepper, but b/c he WINS.
How
many rings do Manning and Culpepper have?
Exactly.
E. The Right Way to Shovel Snow:
If you've been shoveling for as long as I have:
....You tend to develop a love-hate relationship with the snow. I can
think of few things that test the mettle of men as this task, so as we fight
this war on terror, we......
WHAT???
One
of those moments, nice.
F. The REAL Way to Shovel Snow:
Courtesy of the Wellness Junction,
·Shovel early and often. Newly fallen snow is lighter than heavily
packed or partially melted snow. Before you begin shoveling, warm up your
muscles for 10 minutes with light exercise.
·Push the snow instead of lifting it.
Keep the shovel close to your body. Space your hands on the shovel. It increases
your leverage.
·If you must lift the snow, lift it properly.
Squat with your legs apart, knees bent and back straight. Lift with your legs.
Do not bend at the waist. Scoop small amounts of snow into the shovel and walk
to where you want to dump it. Holding a shovelful of snow with your arms
outstretched puts too much weight on your spine. Never remove deep snow all at
once; do it piecemeal. Shovel an inch or two, then take another inch off. Rest,
and repeat if necessary.
·Do not throw the snow over your shoulder or to the side.
This action requires a twisting motion that stresses your back.
·See what you are shoveling.
Do not let a hat or scarf block your vision. Watch out for ice patches and
uneven surfaces. Avoid falls by wearing shoes/boots that have slip-resistant
soles.
·Use a shovel that feels comfortable for your height and
strength.
Avoid a shovel that is too heavy or too long.
·Pace yourself. Shoveling snow is an aerobic activity,
comparable to weightlifting. Take frequent breaks and replenish fluids to
prevent dehydration, which affects muscles.
"Nothing To Lose"
- An IPF Media Event &
More......
A. Drumroll please. The winner of the IPF Catch Phrase Contest
is......
Laurin Grant
from Seattle, Washington for her winning submission, God, Life, IPF.
I want to thank everyone that participated in this contest. We do
appreciate it. You voted in the poll and made her the winner.
As promised,
Laurin will be receiving a free T-shirt, as well as a $30 certificate to the
store of her choosing. Our
runners up are Franklin Phillips and Becky Kurikeshu. They will both
receive a free IPF t-shirt.
Also, we will have our official IPF T-shirt order form for you this coming
Monday, January 17th with all the information you need. Thangu.
B. Nothing to Lose:
Back in 2001, myself, IPF webmaster Binu, and an Irish immigrant named Sam John
decided to create a series of media clips entitled
"Nothing to Lose."
These three pioneers (with too much time on their hands), decided to release
these clips for your viewing pleasure.
This is just the first of an
ORIGINAL
series from IPF. Check
back in over the next few weeks as we release more clips/outtakes. Much
Love.
C. YAR 2005: The church I attend had a brother's retreat this
past weekend. It was good to see some of you there. The most
important thing I took away from this year's event was that we need to be men of
God. We can't rely on the faith of our fathers to get us into heaven.
Also, we can't blame anyone but ourselves. On the day of judgement, we
can't say, "But God, it was b/c of this person, or this
church."
We might as well jump head first into hell and give time to the next person in
line.
That's the bottom line.
IPF webmasters/columnists Binu, Jonathan, Chris M & Ben H
were in attendance. I came away impressed with the
QBing skills
of one
Jonathan Flores (3 TD passes) as well his posse from Chi-town. Those men are no
doormats. The men from Philly however, were surprisingly absent.
Benjamin Harris also fared well, scoring one TD. Well done gentlemen. God
Bless.
D. NFL Playoffs: Randy Moss....this guy....
.....feigned
mooning the Packers faithful after scoring one of his TD's. Is it a big
deal to beat the Pack in Lambeu, in a playoff game? Of course. But Randy,
you need to think about where you will rank in history. You're almost 30
now. You have a lot of yards and touchdowns, but there is that one piece
of hardware on your finger, that you don't have yet. That's right, a Super
Bowl ring. If you don't have one when you're career is over, let's just
say the Hall of Fame committee will stamp a big:
X
on
an autographed copy of the above picture. You heard it here.

Pittsburgh. Don't get it
twisted.
